Workshops at Micayoga
Journey to Armbalances 3 x workshops on the pipeline
Service Description
Ever wondered what it feels like to balance on your arms? This workshop is the perfect place to give it a try! You don’t need to be experienced—just curious and open to having fun. We’ll start with a 45 minute flow designed to incorporate conditioning practises to support your arm balancing journey. Then, step by step, you’ll learn how to safely explore poses like Crow and other playful balances. If you feel ready, you’ll also have the chance to try more challenging variations, but there will always be options to suit your level. You’ll be guided with clear instructions, lots of support, and tips to help you feel steady and confident. Most importantly, we’ll keep it light-hearted—expect to laugh, maybe wobble a bit, and surprise yourself along the way! Come ready to move, explore, and have fun—you might just discover that you can do more than you think. Why Inversions? A fresh perspective – Inversions like Handstand literally turn the world upside down shifting our viewpoint helps us challenge old patterns of thinking (samskaras) and see life with new clarity. Facing fear with courage – Standing on our hands brings up fear (of falling, failing, losing control). Yoga teaches us to meet fear with presence and courage (abhyasa – consistent practice, and vairagya – non-attachment). The practice becomes a way to build resilience and inner strength. Building tapas (discipline) – Mastery doesn’t come overnight. Handstand requires patience, practice, and perseverance, reflecting the yogic principle of tapas—the heat and effort that transform us over time. Connection of body and mind – Balancing upside down demands deep focus and awareness of breath, alignment, and subtle shifts. This cultivates dharana (concentration), one of the steps on the yogic path. £25 + VAT Sunday, September 21, 2025 2:00 PM- 4:00 PM Beginner to arm Balance Next Sunday, October 19,2025 Journey to Pincha Final Sunday, November 9,2025 Journey to Handstand Link to book https://micayoga.co.uk/workshops
